Terry Christian Life Songs

Broken Hearts

In August 1991 I left El Salvador after living there for eight enjoyable years. I arrived in England to spend what was to be the most unpleasant year of my life. I found it really hard to settle back into life in the UK. This provided the beginning of what eventually became BROKEN HEARTS. By August 1992 I was living and working as a teacher in Bogota, Colombia. It was there that most of the rest of the songs on this CD record materialised.

Song Info

Complicated:Sometimes being married is difficult but it is worth all of the effort and work - thanks Morena.

Sand:No I won't let her slip, like sand from my hands!

One Too Many Times: A fictional song written from a big man's viewpoint: coffee, hopelessness, memories. Country and Western Songs, tears and beers in dark blue neon bars. I'll be right there boys after I dry my eyes.

Broken Hearts:A true story from my younger and more restless days.

Running To You: Written after thinking about Ireland, the Irish in North London, and the many lonely nights I spent there. The Gresham Ballroom is the dance hall in question.

Remember Me: Los Angeles. Now there's a place that left me cold, empty and disappointed. At the end of the day Hollywood is just another street.

Easy Love: Life used to be so simple but I couldn't go back to all that now. Still, you can always dream and sing songs. That's how easy love should be.

Holloway Road: Vivid recollections of my first visit to London way, way back in June 1973.

I Will Always Love You: Inspired by the honest simplicity of Catrina, my youngest daughter. When I was feeling out of it, with these words, she quickly brought me around to see the brighter side.

My Heart (Loves You): "Don't wait on the corner, wasting your youth. Live in the knowledge that love is the truth". Respect and cherish it!

Keep On Loving You: I wish that I could express how much I really love my wife. In reality I don't think that I have adequately done so. I always end up saying something that sounds wrong. 'I Love You' does not always convey the same feeling as in the spanish equivalent te amo.
